Elias "Maik" Galakos: was a Greek football midfielder during the 1970s and 1980s.He returned to Greece and played for Olympiakos in the period 1974–1981 before committing the unthinkable deed in the eyes of Olympiakos supporters, by signing with Panathinaikos. Galakos played for the greens between 1982 and 1985. He retired after playing in 256 Alpha Ethniki matches.

Elias Magnus Fries: was a Swedish mycologist and botanist born at Femsjö in Småland.In 1811 he entered the University of Lund where, in 1814, he was appointed an associate professorship in botany, and in 1824, became a full professor. In 1834 he became professor borgströmianus of practical economy (from 1851 "botany and practical economy") at Uppsala University.Fries is considered to be, after Persoon, founding father of modern mushroom taxonomy (see mycology). His taxonomy of mushrooms was influenced by German romantics (see Goethe). He utilized spore color and arrangement of the hymenophore (pores, gills, teeth etc.) as major taxonomic characteristics.

Elias Howe: was an American inventor and sewing machine pioneer. He was born in Spencer, Massachusetts.Howe spent his childhood and early adult years in Massachusetts where he apprenticed in a textile factory and then for a master mechanic.[1]Contrary to popular belief, he invented the sewing machine yet many other people, including Walter Hunt, had worked on the idea of such a machine before him. However, Howe refined these ideas into a functional machine and on September 10, 1846, he was awarded the first United States patent (#4750) for a sewing machine using a lockstitch design.
