Ronit Elkabetz: an Israeli actress and filmmaker.Elkabetz was born in Beersheba in 1964 to a religious Sephardic family and grew up in Kiryat Yam.[1] Her mother was a hairdresser and her father was a postal employee.[2] Her mother spoke French and Arabic, but her father insisted on speaking only Hebrew.[1][3] She never studied acting and started her career as a model.[2]
