Frits Van Oostrom: is University Professor for the Humanities at the Utrecht University. In 1999 he was a visiting Professor at Harvard for the Erasmus Chair. From September 2004 to June 2005, he was a fellow of the Netherlands Institute for Advanced Study (NIAS). He was awarded the Spinozapremie in 1995. In May, 2005 he became President of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW) for a three year period.

Frits Evert Eyken: was a Dutch rower who competed in the 1920 Summer Olympics.Eyken was born in Jakarta, Indonesia. He rowed for Delft University, Laga, Netherlands. Eyken competed for Netherlands at the 1920 Summer Olympics in the single scull where he met Jack Beresford in the heats and lost by a margin.[1] In 1921, Eyken won the Diamond Challenge Sculls at Henley Royal Regatta beating Jack Beresford in the final.[2] Following Eyken's victory, Janus Ooms passed on to him the "Golden Belt" he was awarded in 1892. Eyken, in turn, passed it on to the next Dutch Diamonds winner Bertus Gunther in 1929[3]

Frits Thors: is a retired Dutch journalist and news anchor.[1] Thors is best known as the newscaster of the NTS-Journaal from 1965 until 1972.Prior to the NTS-Journaal, he had already had a long career as a radio presenter for the AVRO. He made his microphone debut in 1928. During World War II he was one of the few broadcasting employees who did not want to work for the Nazi Germany Propaganda broadcasting service in the Netherlands. In 1944 and 1945 he worked for Radio Herrijzend Nederland (Radio Recovering Netherlands) which broadcasted from the already liberated south of the Netherlands.
