but I'm afraid size does not pass ...

Yes, you tension is quite obvious, becoz cloth is not an ideal gift for new baby because size is a big handle in it , most of the time baby weight and height can be vary then , this idea for giving clothes do not work , please make a very common gift instead of personalize gift like ,Bottle , sleeping kit, toys, blanket, Baby bath gift pack , jewelry gold/silver etc.

You could get them one of them baby moulding kits. Its a kit where you can make a clay plaque of the babys hand print and foot print and put them in a frame. I know your in the US so i cant say an exact store as Im in the UK but if you have a mamas and papas or a babies are us over you can buy them there. Only quite cheap and a really nice gift.

Other things could include buying something for the mum to be rather than the baby. Could make her a home-made hamper with a nice bottle of wine, cup cakes, bath set etc...
