Why people keep middle name

My question is that why people keep middle name, means what is the need of middle name , may be my
question look like funny for others but I really want to know this? please advice me .

You raise very interesting topic for this section , according to me people usally used middle name because they want to add their father's name in their names, and the syntex of the name is like First name ( their own name) middle name (their father's name) and last name ( their surname or title ). So that they generally used middle name in their name.
