Jay Y. Lee – South Korean Businessman

Lee Jae-yong, or as he is known professionally as Jay Y. Lee, is the vice chairman of Samsung, as the “de facto head”. Normally a title like vice chairman would not be used with outsized corporate control, however, Lee’s father is in the hospital so he has taken over for Lee Kun-Hee.

Lee’s main priorities have been finding new business that is high-growth, especially after the entry of many low-cost Chinese smartphone models. To top that off, he is focused on finance, healthcare, and technology for driverless cars as well. All these initiatives are really important especially after the issues with the Galaxy Note7. In 2016, Jay Y. Lee was listed by Forbes as #40 on the 100 most powerful people in the world.
