She had previously placed first runner-up to Carla Baumann in the Miss Alabama Teen USA 2006 pageant, making her one of very few highly placed Miss Teen USA state contestants to win a Miss USA state title the following year. Moore also placed first runner-up in the 2005 Miss Alabama's Outstanding Teen pageant, the teen counterpart of the Miss Alabama title.
