Anant Nag: He is considered to be one of the all time greatest actors in the Kannada film industry with a vast number of commercially successful movies. As a result, he is popularly known as an actor with no-failures by the critics. In addition to Kannada movies, he has acted in Marathi, Malayalam and Hindi movies. He has also acted in Malgudi Days, directed by his younger brother Shankar Nag based on the stories by R.K.Narayan. His work was much appreciated by critics at that time. Anant Balani: was a Bollywood film director and screenwriter.He directed films such as Patthar Ke Phool in 1991 which starred Salman Khan. He also wrote the script for Insaaf: The Justice , released in 2004.He died of a heart attack on August 29 2003 in Mumbai. 2003 had been a strenuous year for him and he had finished three films and was working on a fourth at his time of death. He didn't live to see any of his films of that year released which included Joggers' Park, Mumbai Matinee and Ek Din 24 Ghante.

For over thirty years he has taught at the School of Architecture in Ahmedabad. His well known works include the Executive Management Centre at the Indian Institute of Management in Ahmedabad, India, the Forest Management Institute in Bhopal, India and the Institute of Statistics in New Delhi.

Udupi Rajagopalacharya Ananthamurthy: a leading contemporary writer and critic in the Kannada language and is considered as one of the most important representatives of the Navya movement. Ananthamurthy is counted among the most eminent Indian authors.[1] He is the sixth person among seven recipients of the Jnanpith Award for the Kannada language, the highest literary honor conferred in India.[2] In 1998, he received the Padma Bhushan award from the Government of India.
