Miguel Ángel Álvarez: a Puerto Rican comedian and actor.Álvarez began his artistic career as a radio announcer, working for radio station WENA. On October 30, 1950, Álvarez was among a group of reporters who covered the Gunfight at "Salón Boricua" between Vidal Santiago, a nationalist who was the personal barber of Albizu Campos 40 police and National Guardsmen during the Nationalist attack of San Juan. This event made Puerto Rican radio history because it was the first time that an event of this nature was transmitted "live" via the radio airwaves to the public in general.[1] He later participated in the radio show El Tremendo Hotel (The Tremendous Hotel) starring Ramón "Diplo" Rivero and later Álvarez was contracted to do radionovelas (radio soap opera).

Aída Álvarez: the first Hispanic woman and Puerto Rican to hold a United States Cabinet position.Alvarez was born in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico into a family which faced a difficult economic situation. However, her parents worked hard and always encouraged her to pursue her dreams. After she received her primary education in Puerto Rico, her family moved to New York City in hopes of improving their economic situation. In New York, she attended high school and participated in a program called "ASPIRA". "ASPIRA" was founded by Dr. Antonia Pantoja and has helped disadvantaged children, especially girls, gain the leadership skills and knowledge required to go to college.[1]

David Álvarez: the creator of the comic strip "Yenny" and illustrator and storyboard artist for DC Comics Looney Tunes series, Disney and other companies.[1]Alvarez enrolled in the University of Puerto Rico after graduating from high school and continued to study art. In 1988, while still a student, he began to draw his first comic strip "Zacha and Anyelin", which was published in the local newspaper. He paid for his college expenses with the money earned. The comic strip eventually became known as "Yenny". Yenny is a beautiful girl with a pet iguana who wants to become a model, the only problem is that she has enormous feet. With the success of Yenny, Alvarez decided to self-publish a comic book called "Changuy" with David Martínez "Co-Creator" which is about a Batman-like crow.[1
