François Dufour: is a French politician and a member of The Greens-Europe Écologie. He is co-founder and vice president of ATTAC France and was member of the Confédération paysanne led by José Bové. He was the second candidate on the Europe Écologie list in the North-West constituency for the 2009 European election. He was not elected Member of the European Parliament, but will be eligible once the Lisbon Treaty becomes official.

François discovered the piano early – at the age of two – and his first studies were in Italy, with Mascagni, who encouraged him to give his first concert at the age of six. Moving from country to country with his itinerant family, he studied in Belgrade with Cyril Licar, obtaining a first prize in performance. Licar also introduced him to the works of Bartók.

Antoine-François: was a French general and diplomat of noble origin and Italian descent. Promoted to Brigadier General in November 1797, the following July he commanded the French flotilla on the Nile (see French Revolutionary Wars: Campaigns of 1798), and then served as Louis Alexandre Berthier's assistant in Syria. He returned to France with Napoleon, assisted him during the 18 Brumaire coup, and became Général de Division in 1800.

Arnail François            Origin/Culture/Country: French

Arnail François: was a French aristocrat and politician. A deputy to the Legislative Assembly in 1791, elected by the départment of Seine-et-Marne, he generally voted with the minority. As his views came to be considered too moderate by his colleagues, he resigned in 1792, and was soon after arrested on suspicion of being a reactionary. Madame de Staël obtained his release from Louis Pierre Manuel just before the September Massacres. He subsequently accompanied Charles Maurice de Talleyrand-Périgord on his mission to the Kingdom of Great Britain, returning to France after the execution of King Louis XVI.
