Henryk Friedman: (1903 – 1942) was a Polish chess master.He lived in Lvov (Lviv, Lwów, Lemberg). In 1926–1934, Friedman won seven times in succession the Championship of Lvov but 1930, when he took 2nd place behind Stepan Popel. Friedman played in four Polish championships.

Henryk Wojciech Kasperczak: (born July 10, 1946 in Zabrze) is a former Polish footballer, and later a football manager. He played for the Polish national team at the 1974 (third place) and 1978 FIFA World Cup, and won the silver medal two years later at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal, Canada.

Henryk Szeryng: was a Mexican violin virtuoso of Polish and Jewish heritage.He made his solo debut in 1933 playing the Johannes Brahms Violin Concerto. From 1933 to 1939 he studied composition in Paris with Nadia Boulanger, and during World War II he worked as an interpreter for the Polish government in exile (Szeryng was fluent in seven languages) and gave concerts for the Allied troops all over the world. During one of these concerts in Mexico City he received an offer to take over the string department of the university there.

Henryk Miko?aj Górecki: is a Polish composer of classical music. His work in the late 1950s and 1960s was characterised by a dissonant modernism influenced by Nono, Stockhausen and Górecki's contemporaries Penderecki and Serocki. In the mid 1970s, he moved towards a 'pure' sacred minimalist sound, encapsulated by the 1976 Symphony No. 3. Though he has remained primarily a religious composer, Górecki has progressed through several distinct styles, from the reverence of Beatus Vir (1979), to the meditative Miserere (1981) to the spiritualism of Good Night (1990).
