Roque Esteban Scarpa: was a Chilean writer, literary critic and scholar. Scarpa served as professor of literature at the University of Chile and was a prominent member of the Chilean Academy of Language. In 1943 he founded the Teatro de Ensayo of the Catholic University of Chile. He was director of the National Library of Chile (1967-1971 and 1973-1977).

Roque Funes: was the most prominent Argentine cinematographer in the history of the Cinema of Argentina whose career spanned over 40 years of cinema.He began working in cinematography in 1921 with director José A. Ferreyra in La Gaucha, and worked extensively with Ferreyra on films that followed such as Buenos Aires, ciudad de ensueño (1922), La Leyenda del puente inca (1923) and Odio serrano (1924).

Roque Benjamín Fernández: an Argentine economist, former President of the Central Bank of Argentina from 5 February 1991 until 4 August 1996 and Minister of Economy from 6 August 1996 until 10 December 1999, being the only member of the Chicago Boys ever to head the economy of Argentina.Fernández was born in Córdoba, Argentina and holds a CPA from the Universidad Nacional de Córdoba and a PhD in Economics from the same university. In 1973 he obtained a scholarship from the Ford Foundation and went on to earn a PhD in Economics from the University of Chicago in 1975.

Roque Gastón Máspoli: was an Uruguayan football player and coach. He was the goalkeeper for the Uruguay national team that won the 1950 World Cup. In the final match of the 1950 World Cup, known as the "Maracanazo" due to Uruguay's surprising win at the Maracanã stadium in Rio de Janeiro, in front of near 200,000 Brazilian fans, Máspoli allowed one goal as the visitors beat favorites Brazil 2-1.
