Bindi Irwin Remembers Her Father Steve Irwin

It has been 10 years since the death of infamous “Crocodile Hunter” Steve Irwin, who died doing what he loved. His daughter, Bindi Irwin, paid tribute to the star from down under on the anniversary of his death with a photo from the past.

Bindi stated that her dad will forever be her hero and she loves him more than ever – posting a photo of Steve holding her up with one hand on Instagram. Terri Irwin, Steve’s wife also went on social media to remember and honor her late husband for Australia’s Father’s Day. She tells others to hug their dad for Father’s day.

The Australian wildlife expert was pierced in the heart by a stingray while filming an underwater documentary in September 2006. The Irwin family has continue to operate the Austria Zoo and live up to Steve’s legacy.

The feminine name Bindi, or Bindy, is an Indigenous Australian word that means “Little Girl”. The name became popular after the Crocodile Hunter’s daughter was named Bindi Sue Irwin. Her first name was taken from her father’s favorite female crocodile located at the Australia Zoo.

Bindi is now a famous Australian teen actress and television presenter. She has also been a game show host, singer, songwriter and fitness instructor with a line of DVDs. Bindi also won season 21 of Dancing with the Stars.
