As a psychoanalyst and economist, Corinne Maier has a broad range of experiences to draw from when she writes. She is well known for being the author of “Bonjour paresse,” which is a cynical critique of corporate culture in France.


She studied at the National Foundation of Political Sciences, studying international relations and economics, eventually earning a doctorate in psychoanalysis. As the author of the famous Bonjour paresse, which means Hello Laziness, Maier has been compared to the satirist Scott Adams. In fact, her book reached the number one spot on Amazon’s French language bestseller list.


In 1992, Maier was employed by Electricite de France as an economist. After that career, she ended up embracing the French lifestyle and the Anglo-Saxon work ethic. Even referring to white-collar workers as neo-slaves and has become somewhat of a counterculture heroine. In 2016, BBC named Maier one of the most influential and inspirational women in the world by BBC. She stated that a world that can’t be changed isn’t worth fighting for, however, it is worth a good laugh.
