Abdul Ahad: was a renowned lyricist and music director from Bangladesh. Born in Rajshahi, Ahad developed an interest in music from his student life and became the first Bengali Muslim to get admitted into Shantiniketan. In 1941 he joined HMV, Calcutta and gradually became a popular music director for the recording industry as well as the film industry. After the Partition of India, Ahad joined Radio Pakistan and became a key person in the Musical arena of Dhaka. He introduced many new talents to the music world, composed numerous songs and wrote several books on Bengali music. The Government of Bangladesh awarded him the Independence Day Award, the highest civilian award of the country, in 1978 to recognize his contribution to the national life.

Ghaith Abdul-Ahad: an unembedded Iraqi journalist who began working after the U.S. invasion and has written for The Guardian and Washington Post and published photographs in the New York Times, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, The Guardian, The Times (London), and other media outlets. Ghaith studied architecture at Baghdad University and had never traveled outside Iraq prior to the Iraq war. As a deserter from Saddam Hussein's Iraqi army, he lived underground in Baghdad for six years, having to change his residence every few months in order to avoid detection and arrest. He began doing street photography in 2001 and was determined to document conditions in Baghdad during the war. This aroused suspicion, and he was arrested three days before the end of major combat operations, though he was able to escape by bribing his guards.

Reza Ahadi: a retired Iranian footballer.Ahadi played for Iranian club Esteghlal FC for most of his career, and also appeared with Rot Weiss Essen in Germany. He was a member of the Iran national football team from 1982-1989.
