Gamal Abdel Nasser: was the second President of Egypt from 1956 until his death in 1970. Along with Muhammad Naguib, he led the Egyptian Revolution of 1952, which removed King Farouk I and heralded a new period of industrialization in Egypt, together with a profound advancement of Arab nationalism, including a short-lived union with Syria. Nasser inspired anti-colonial and pan-Arab revolutions in Algeria, Libya, Iraq and Yemen, and played a major role in founding the Palestine Liberation Organization, in 1964, and the international Non-Aligned Movement.

Gamal Hemdan: was a prominent Egyptian geographer.Hemdan was born in 1928 in Al Qalyubiyah governorate, Egypt. In 1948, he graduated from the department of Geography, faculty of arts at the Cairo University with honors. In 1953 he obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Reading, England and was then appointed a lecturer at the faculty of arts, Cairo University. In 1963 he resigned his post at the university in protest to stepping by his promotion. Since then, he secluded himself off the society and dedicated his life to writing and research. He died in 1993 in a domestic accident.
