Étienne Mayrand            Origin/Culture/Country: American

Étienne Mayrand: was a Quebec businessman and political figure.He was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Lower Canada for Saint-Maurice County in 1816. Mayrand served as a member of the Special Council which governed the province following the Lower Canada Rebellion and was named to the Legislative Council of the Province of Canada in June 1841. He resigned from the council later that same month.

Hormidas Mayrand: was a Canadian politician. A farmer by occupation, he was first elected to the Canadian House of Commons for the Quebec electoral district of Maskinongé in a 1903 by-election, after the sitting MP, Joseph-Hormisdas Legris, was called to the Senate of Canada. A Liberal, he was re-elected in the 1904 and 1908 elections. He was defeated in 1911 but was re-elected in 1917. He did not run in 1921 election. He was also mayor of St-Léon.
