Glenn Herbert Gould: was a Canadian pianist, noted especially for his recordings of the music of Johann Sebastian Bach, his remarkable technical proficiency, his unorthodox musical philosophy, and his eccentric personality and piano technique. He was one of the best known and most celebrated pianists of the twentieth century. He stopped performing concerts in 1964, dedicating himself to the recording studio for the rest of his career—as well as performances for television and radio, non-musical radio documentaries, and other projects.

Alexander Jerome Gould: Gould was born and raised in Los Angeles, California, the son of Jewish parents Valerie and Tom Gould.[1][2] He began acting at the age of two and is perhaps best known for providing the voice of the title character of Disney/Pixar's Finding Nemo. His on-camera credits include guest spots on the television series Ally McBeal, Malcolm in the Middle, and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. In 2004, he starred as David Collins in the WB remake of the soap opera Dark Shadows. However, the pilot was rejected by the WB Television Network, and it never aired. Since 2005, he has starred as Shane Botwin on the Showtime series Weeds.

Other notable film roles include Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice (which earned him an Oscar nomination), A Bridge Too Far, Capricorn One, and a remake of The Lady Vanishes. Benjamin Apthorp Gould: was a pioneering American astronomer. He is notable for creating the Astronomical Journal, discovering the Gould Belt, and for founding of the Argentine National Observatory and the Argentine National Weather Service.he studied mathematics and astronomy under C. F. Gauss at Göttingen, Germany, during which time he published approximately 20 papers on the observation and motion of comets and asteroids. Following completion of his Ph.D. (he was the first American to receive this degree in astronomy) he toured European observatories asking for advice on what could be done to further astronomy as a professional science in the U.S.A. The main advice he received was to start a professional journal modeled after what was then the world's leading astronomical publication, the Astronomische Nachrichten.

Stephen Jay Gould: was a prominent American paleontologist, evolutionary biologist, and historian of science. He was also one of the most influential and widely read writers of popular science of his generation. Gould spent most of his career teaching at Harvard University and working at the American Museum of Natural History in New York.Gould's greatest contribution to science was his theory of punctuated equilibrium which he developed with Niles Eldredge in 1972.[1] The theory proposes that most evolution is marked by long periods of evolutionary stability, which is later punctuated by rare instances of branching evolution. The theory was contrasted against phyletic gradualism, the popular idea that evolutionary change is marked by a pattern of smooth and continuous change in the fossil record.
