Abdus Samad Azad: was a diplomat and politician from Bangladesh. Azad was elected to Bangladesh's parliament five times from 1970 to 2001. He was also elected Memember of Lower Assembly in the Parlament of than East Pakistan. He became President of Muslim Student Federation of All - Asam in 1946 and Lead Language movement in 1952.Azad was born in Bhurakhali village, Sunamganj district, in what is now Bangladesh. He was an important member of the Awami League and an assistant to Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by 1970 when he became the chief representative of the Bangladeshi independence movement in exile, helping the movement get international support while Mujibur Rahman was imprisoned. When independence for Bangladesh was achieved in 1971 Azad became foreign minister in the Mujibur Rahman government. He served in that position until 1972 and then became agriculture minister.

Abdus Sattar: was a Bangladeshi jurist and politician who served as the president of Bangladesh following the assassination of Ziaur Rahman. He had previously served as Zia's vice-president and organised the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP). Sattar was deposed from the presidency by the army chief Hossain Mohammad Ershad.After the partition of India, Sattar moved to Dhaka in East Pakistan in 1950 and joined the Dhaka High Court. He joined the Awami Muslim League of Fazlul Huq and Huseyn Shaheed Suhrawardy in 1953 and was elected to the Constituent Assembly of Pakistan in 1955. Sattar was appointed minister of home affairs and education in the short-lived cabinet of prime minister Ibrahim Ismail Chundrigar (1957)
