After studying law for 3 years, he devoted himself from 1943 onwards only to his painting. He is perhaps the best-known Catalan artist to emerge in the period since the Second World War.In 1950 he held his first shash exhibition, at Galeries Laietanes, Barcelona. In the early 50s he lived in Paris, to where he has often returned. Both in Europe and beyond, the highly influential French critic and curator Michel Tapié (no relation, despite the similar name) enthusiastically promoted the work of Antoni Tà pies.

He played the position of right full back. As the first player of Tarnovia Tarnów, he joined the Polish National Team, when after the series of positive reviews for first league elimination games he was selected by coach Waclaw Kuchar and team captain Henryk Reyman to play in a game against Romanian National Team on 19 July 1947. In the team he quite unexpectedly replaced the famous Wladyslaw Szczepaniak.
Antoni Galecki

He also played on the Polish National Team during the 1936 Berlin Olympics and Poland's 1938 FIFA World Cup lone match against Brazil.Galecki joined the LKS Lódz team in 1922, becoming its key defender four years later. Represented this team until 1939, participating in more than 400 games. In many of them, he was the team captain.
