Etheldred Benett: was an early English female geologist, the second daughter of Thomas Benett and great-granddaughter of a former Archbishop of Canterbury.Later she resided at Norton House, near Warminster, in Wiltshire, and for more than a quarter of a century devoted herself to collecting and studying the fossils of her native county. Her speciality was in the Middle Cretaceous Upper Greenland in the Vale of Wardour and was well known for her collection of Tisbury Coral. She wrote and privately published a monograph, A Catalogue of the Organic Remains of the County of Wiltshire (1831). Her fossil collection is currently housed at the Academy of Natural Sciences of Philadelphia.

Philippe Benetton: is a former French rugby union footballer and a current coach. He played as a flanker. He had 59 caps for France, scoring 7 tries, 34 points in aggregate, from 1989 to 1999. He played three times at the Five Nations, in 1993, 1997 and 1998, winning it the last two times, with a Grand Slam. He also played at the 1995 Rugby World Cup finals, in a total of three games, but got injured in the win over Scotland, and missed the rest of the competition.
