He is a product of Clyde's youth system.He made his senior debut in a Scottish Cup third round tie against Montrose in November 2007. His older brother Ruari also played in this match, and in doing so, they became the first set of brothers to play for Clyde for 17 years.

James Maclennan: was a Canadian lawyer, politician, and Puisne judge of the Supreme Court of Canada. Maclennan ran unsuccessfully for a seat in the Ontario assembly in 1871. In 1874, he was elected to the Canadian House of Commons in the riding of Victoria North. However, the election was declared void. He won the by-election in 1874 but again the election was declared void. In 1905, he was appointed to the Supreme Court of Canada and retired in 1909.

Donald MacLennan: was a lawyer and political figure in Nova Scotia, Canada. He represented Inverness County in the Nova Scotia House of Assembly from 1911 to 1925 and then Inverness—Richmond in the Canadian House of Commons from 1935 to 1940 as a Liberal member. MacLennan sat for Margaree Forks division in the Senate of Canada from 1940 to 1953. He was called to the bar in the following year and set up practice at Port Hood. MacLennan was president of the Eastern Journal Publishing Company. He served on the municipal council for Port Hood in 1907 and was named treasurer for Inverness County in 1910. MacLennan ran unsuccessfully for a seat in the House of Commons in 1926, however he was elected in 1935. He remained in office for 18 years until his death at the age of 76.

Angus MacLennan: was a Canadian politician.Angus MacLennan was the youngest of the ten children of John MacLennan, an early settler from Kintail Scotland. MacLennan taught at local district schools to earn money for his medical studies. He eventually graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1871, and practiced medicine for over 30 years in Inverness County, maintaining the practice throughout his political career. His extended family over the years now resides in Tyne Valley, Prince Edward Island and Mainland Nova Scotia.
