Michio Morishima: was Japanese economist and emeritus professor of London School of Economics (LSE), Sir John Hicks Professor of LSE. He was also emeritus professor of Osaka University and a member of the British Academy.He studied economics and sociology under Yasuma Takada.In 1946 he graduated Kyoto University and taught at Kyoto University and Osaka University. And he established Institute of Social and Economic Research (ISER) of Osaka University with Yasuma Takada. In 1968, he went to Britain and taught at University of Essex, LSE.In 1965, he became the first Japanese president of the Econometric Society. It is said that the most enthusiastic supporter of Morishima was John Hicks.

Michio Kaku: an American theoretical physicist specializing in string field theory, and a futurist. He is a popularizer of science, host of two radio programs, and a best-selling author.Kaku was born in San Jose, California to Japanese immigrant parents, and attended and played first board on the chess team of Cubberly High School in Palo Alto in the early 1960s. At the National Science Fair in Albuquerque, N.M., he attracted the attention of physicist Edward Teller, who took Kaku as a protégé, awarding him the Hertz Engineering Scholarship. Kaku received a B.S. degree summa cum laude from Harvard University in 1968 where he placed first in his physics class. He went on to attend the Berkeley Radiation Laboratory at the University of California

Michio Miyagi: was a Japanese musician, famous for his koto playing.He was born in Kobe. He lost his sight in 1902, when he was 8 years old, and started his study in koto under the guidance of Nakajima Kengyo II, dedicating the rest of his life to the instrument. In 1907 he moved with his family to Incheon, in southern Korea. When he was 14 years old, in 1909 he finished his first composition, Mizu no Hentai. At 18 he reached the rank of kengyo, the highest rank for a koto performer.

Michio Takeyama: was a Japanese writer, literary critic and scholar of German literature, active in Showa period Japan.On returning home in 1932, Takeyama taught German language as a professor at First Higher School, and also translated works of German literature into Japanese. Among the works he translated were Goethe's An Anthology, Nietzsche's Thus Spake Zarathustra and Out of My Life and Thought: An Autobiography by Albert Schweitzer.

Michio Nishizawa: was a star player in Nippon Professional Baseball. He debuted with Nagoya at the age of 15 in 1936, the youngest player ever in the history of pro Yakyu. He achieved early fame as a pitcher, developing into a twenty game winner by 1939. His most memorable pitching feats occurred in 1942. On May 24 of that year, Nishizawa pitched a remarkable twenty-eight complete innings, totalling 311 pitches in a 4-4 tie against the Taiyo Whales at Korakuen Stadium. Later that year, he tossed his first and only no-hitter, accomplishing the feat against the Hankyu team. Despite a career Earned Run Average of 2.22, the heavy workload combined with injuries sustained during two years of service in World War II forced him to switch positions to first base, and later the outfield.
