Osamu Kobayashi: an animator and animation director perhaps best known for Magical Angel Creamy Mami. He was born in Fuchuu-shi, Tokyo. He belongs to Ajia-do Animation Works. In 1963, he entered Toei animation (existing TOEI ANIMATION) at the same period as Tsutomu Shibayama and Hayao Miyazaki. He was a chief animator working with Shibayama after having transferred to an A production (an existing Shin-ei-animation). He established Ajia-do Animation Works with Shibayama Tsutomu in 1978.

Osamu Abe: a former Nippon Professional Baseball player for the Seibu Lions in Japan's Pacific League.

Osamu Higashio: a former Japanese baseball player who played in the Japanese professional leagues from 1969-1988. He also was manager of the Seibu Lions from 1995-2001.Higashio was a star in the Koshien high school baseball tournament, advancing to the semi-finals in the spring of 1968. He was drafted in the first round by the Nishitetsu Lions (the current Seibu Lions) later that year. He lost confidence in his pitching ability after seeing the high level of pitching in the Pacific League, and requested the team to convert him to a position player. The team accepted his request, but quickly withdrew it when the Black Mist Scandal erupted in the 1969 off-season. The ace of the Lions pitching staff, Masaaki Ikenaga, was banished from the professional leagues because of the scandal, and Higashio was forced into pitching a full year in the Lions starting rotation

Osamu Ashitomi: a Japanese politician of the Liberal Democratic Party, a member of the House of Representatives in the Diet (national legislature). A native of [Futenma, Okinawa]] and graduate of Asia University, he served in the city assembly of Ginowan, Okinawa for three terms. He was elected to the first of his four term in the assembly of Okinawa Prefecture in 1996 and then to the House of Representatives for the first time in 2005. In the meantime, he ran unsuccessfully for the mayor of Ginowan in 2003.
