He made his Eredivisie debut on February 8, 2006 in a 1-0 win over Willem II. During the season he would play another three league matches and Ajax won the KNVB Cup.Prior to the 2006-07 season, Schilder participated in the 2006 Johan Cruijff-schaal clash with PSV Eindhoven which was won 3-1. A few weeks later he was sent on loan to Heracles Almelo where he became one of the key players that played almost all matches and helped the team to prevent it from playing promotion/relegation play-offs with Eerste Divisie sides at the end of the season.
