Robert Ménard Origin/Culture/Country: French
Robert Ménard: is one of the founders and the current Secretary-General of the Paris-based international non-governmental organization, Reporters Without Borders. Ménard came from an old French family which had lived in Algeria since the 1850s. When he was nine years old, the family moved to Brusque, Aveyron. He studied religion, and planned on becoming a priest. While in college, he became aligned with Trotskyist elements, and joined the Socialist Party.
René Menard Origin/Culture/Country: French
René Menard: was a French Jesuit missionary explorer who traveled to Huronia in 1641, learned the language of the Wyandot, and was soon in charge of many of the satellite missions around Sainte-Marie among the Hurons. Menard also worked with the Iroquois. He survived the continuous attacks from Iroquois(see Iroquois Wars) on Huronia and after hearing that the Wyandot were in western Lake Superior after the Huron-Iroquois wars from Radisson and Groseilliers he ventured out to find them in 1661, wintered in L'Anse, Michigan, and disappeared traveling inland from Chequamegon Bay. Menard disappeared in 1661.

Claude Ménard: was a French athlete who competed mainly in the high jump. He competed for a France in the 1928 Summer Olympics held in Amsterdam, Netherlands in the high jump where he won the bronze medal.
