James Cunningham: was a Canadian merchant and Liberal politician, who represented New Westminster in the Canadian House of Commons during the 3rd Parliament from 1874 to 1878. He resigned his seat in the House of Commons in 1878. He sat as MLA for New Westminster City from 1884 to 1886. He also served as Mayor of New Westminster. Cunningham died in New Westminster at the age of 91.

Eric Gordon Cunningham: is a former politician in Ontario, Canada. He served in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 1975 to 1984, as a member of the Ontario Liberal Party. He campaigned for the Canadian House of Commons in the 1974 federal election as a candidate of the Liberal Party of Canada, and lost to Progressive Conservative Bill Kempling by 668 votes in Halton—Wentworth. He was elected to the Ontario legislature in a provincial election the following year, defeating Progressive Conservative incumbent Don Ewen by 1,977 votes in Wentworth North. He was re-elected by an increased majority in the 1977 election, and defeated Progressive Conservative challenger Ann Sloat in 1981. He supported Jim Breithaupt for the Liberal Party leadership in 1982, and resigned from the legislature in 1984 to run federally a second time.

Thomas Cunningham: was an Irish-born merchant, farmer and political figure in British Columbia. He represented New Westminster City in the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia from 1889 to 1890. In 1867, Cunningham was elected to the assembly for Vancouver Island and voted for the union of the two colonies. From 1867 to 1882, he lived in Utah, where he was a merchant and manufacturer of wagons, carriages and agricultural implements. Cunningham then returned to New Westminster, again employed as a hardware merchant. He later became involved in fruit growing and raising Jersey cattle. Cunningham served on the New Westminster municipal council and was president of the British Columbia Agricultural Society. He was elected to the provincial assembly in an 1889 by-election held after William Norman Bole was named a judge.
