Also a Partner/Managing Director/Team Principal of Peter Brock's famous Australian racing team, Gow was one of the founders of TEGA - the Australian Touring Car Entrants Group who are the administrators of, and own the rights to, the V8 Supercar Championship. He emigrated to the UK in 1990 and formed TOCA Limited. TOCA then purchased the rights to the BTCC in 1991 and proceeded to turn the championship into the largest of its type in the world and one of the most widely watched motorsport series around the globe

Donald Gow: was a Scottish footballer who played for Sunderland and the Scottish national football team as a Full back.Previously playing for Rangers, he made his debut got Sunderland against Bolton Wanderers on 19 September 1891 in a 4–3 defeat at Pike's Lane. Gow won the English Football League Championship while at Sunderland in 1892 and 1895. He played for Sunderland on two separate occasions, in 1891–1892 and 1893–1897 respectively, in total, making 96 league appearances scoring 1 goal at his time at Sunderland.

Alan Gow: is a Scottish footballer who currently plays for Scottish Premier League club Hibernian on loan from Plymouth Argyle. He can play as either a striker or an attacking midfielder. Gow started his senior career with his hometown club Clydebank, but moved to Airdrie United in 2002 after Clydebank went out of business. Gow then moved to Scottish Premier League club Falkirk in 2005, and his performances there earned him a transfer to Rangers.

He was a member of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 1867 to 1876.In 1867, he was elected to represent Wellington South in the 1st Parliament of Ontario as a Liberal member; he was reelected in 1871 and 1875. He served as Provincial Secretary and Registrar of Ontario from December 1871 to October 1872. In 1876, he resigned due to health reasons and was appointed sheriff for Wellington County, continuing to serve until his death in Guelph in 1886.
