Chin Lin Sou: was an influential leader in the Chinese American community and prominent figure in Colorado.[1] He immigrated to the United States from Guangzhou, China, in 1859 at the age of 22. Chin stood out amongst his Chinese peers at the time in the United States as he dressed like a westerner and spoke perfect English. He worked on the First Transcontinental Railroad as the foreman of a group of Chinese railroad workers, many of whom Chin, himself, recruited and helped to gain passage into the United States. His leadership was important to the construction of the railroad because Chinese railroad workers were used to lay the steel rails. Chin eventually achieved modest success in mining investments in Central City; by the 1870s, he had earned enough money to bring his family over from China. Upon their arrival, he moved to Denver, where he, as well as his children and descendants, became important figures in the city. He died in 1894 and was buried in Denver's Riverside Cemetery.[1]

Alan Chin: is an American artist, Born in Berkeley, California in 1987. He went to California College of the Arts in Oakland, California.[1] He is an American painter and sculptor, who currently resides in the Bay Area and works in Lafayette, California. Was the youngest artist in history to be chosen to receive the commission to do one of the Hearts of San Francisco[2], benefiting the San Francisco General Hospital Foundation. He currently donates his time and art to charitable organizations helping to create positive change in the world.[1] [2][3][4][5]

Denny Chin: is a judge on the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. Chin was nominated by President Clinton on March 24, 1994, and confirmed in August of that same year. He is the first Asian American appointed as a U.S. District Judge outside of the Ninth Circuit.

Tiffany Chin: is an American figure skater who grew up in San Diego, California. She dominated the junior circuit in ice skating prior to her Olympic career, winning the US Junior National title as well as the World Junior title. Chin made the United States Winter Olympic team in 1984 after winning the freeskate at the 1984 Nationals. She finished fourth at Sarajevo despite placing second in the short program and third in the free program. She went on to win two world bronze medals as well the the 1985 U.S. National title, a first for an Asian American or anyone who was not Caucasian. By breaking these barriers she inspired a new generation of skaters, such as Kristi Yamaguchi.
