Her porn name is a combination of Sunny, which according to Vohra is her brothers name; and Leone, which was picked by Bob Guccione the previous owner of Penthouse magazine.

Her real name Karenjit is a combination of the name Karen and the suffix -jit. The name Karen is a Danish short form of Katherine, which has many meanings, like “each of the two”, “torture”, “my consecration of your name”, or “pure”. The suffix -jit or -jeet is found in Punjabi Sikh names and means “success”.
