Matthew McConaughey is Trying to Lose Weight

Matthew McConaughey was seen running through Malibu in an attempt to lose a few pounds. He is keeping himself in shape by pounding the pavement for his new roles.

Back in 2012, when he was playing a drug dealer in “The Dallas Buyer’s Club” and he had to maintain a heavier figure. After that role was over he lost an astonishing 38-pounds.

Now, McConaughey is set to play the role of the father of a drug dealer in “White Boy Rick”. The movie is about an undercover informant for the federal law enforcement – Richard Wershe, Jr. - who at 14-years-old became a drug dealer in the 1980s to help law enforcement. He was then put in jail for cocaine at the age of 17-years-old – but the question remains – is the law responsible for pushing him into a life of drug dealing?

McConaughey is set to play Wershe’s father, who is a factory worker. This all comes after his work in “The Dark Tower”.

The masculine name Matthew is the English version of Matthaios that is the Greek version of the Hebrew name Mattityahu that means “gift of Yahweh”. One of the twelve apostles has the name Matthew, who was a tax collector and an author of the first gospel that is found in the New Testament.

The name has been used as an English name since the Middle Ages. There have been many notable people with the name, like Matthew Perry the American naval officer who navigated a delegation to Japan.
