Before moving to the Guinness Premiership in 2006 he had gained a reputation for hard work and personal integrity[1] from his days in South African rugby, representing Western Province and the Super 14 franchise the Stormers, having started his professional career at the Griffons.

Peter De Kock: is a Dutch cameraman, film producer and director. He studied at the Film academy in Amsterdam and worked as a director of photography on many films and documentaries. De Kock made his directorial debut with the film The Hands of Che Guevara, a documentary about the severed hands of the Latin American guerrilla fighter Ernesto Che Guevara that were put in a jar of formaldehyde and disappeared from public view. The film was a success at many international film festivals.

Hendrik Merkus, Baron De Kock: was a Dutch military general, minister and senator.In 1801 he joined the Batavian navy, and by 1807 was posted to the Dutch East Indies. In 1821 he commanded a military expedition to Palembang to suppress a local uprising. Later, as lieutenant governor-general (1826–1830), De Kock led the fight against Prince Diponegoro in the Java War.
