Before he joined South China, he was a forward with Tianjin in China. After he moved to Hong Kong, he became their utility player playing anywhere on the field. However, he spent most of time as a defensive midfielder. In 1998, he moved to Sing Tao. After he became a Hong Kong permanent resident, he played for Hong Kong. He played a major role in Hong Kong's World Cup Qualifiers in 1997.

Tony Liu Yung: is a Hong Kong actor and martial artist. He often appeared in martial arts films. He debuted in Bruce Lee's The Big Boss and later appeared in Lee's next three films. Liu joined Golden Harvest in 1970 at the age of 18. His first role was in Bruce Lee's The Big Boss as the villainous "Hsiao Chiun". He then appeared in Fist of Fury as one of the brothers of Jing Wu Men and in Way of the Dragon as "Tony", a Karate practitioner who later studies Kung Fu under Bruce Lee's character, "Tang Lung". He also had a cameo appearance in Enter the Dragon as a tournament fighter who fights John Saxon.
