However, he spent most of time as a defensive midfielder. In 1998, he moved to Sing Tao. After he became a Hong Kong permanent resident, he played for Hong Kong. He played a major role in Hong Kong's World Cup Qualifiers in 1997.

He then appeared in Fist of Fury as one of the brothers of Jing Wu Men and in Way of the Dragon as "Tony", a Karate practitioner who later studies Kung Fu under Bruce Lee's character, "Tang Lung". He also had a cameo appearance in Enter the Dragon as a tournament fighter who fights John Saxon.
