Abraham Walkowitz: was an American painter grouped in with early American Modernists working in the Modernist style. He was born in Siberia, Russia and emigrated with his mother to the United States in his early childhood where he studied at the National Academy of Design in New York City and the Académie Julian in Paris under Jean-Paul Laurence. Walkowitz and his contemporaries gravitated around photographer Alfred Stieglitz' 291 Gallery, originally titled the Little Galleries of the Photo-Secession, where the forerunners of modern art in America gathered and where many European artists were first exhibited in the United States. During the 291 years, Walkowitz worked closely with Stieglitz as well as Arthur Dove, Marsden Hartley, and John Marin (often referred to as "The Stieglitz Quartet").

Abraham Rattner: was an artist best known for paintings with religious themes that had very rich colors.He first studied architecture at George Washington University along with painting at the Corcoran School of Art. However, he soon decided to concentrate on painting and study at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (1917 and 1919). Rattner lived in Paris from 1920 till 1940 when he returned to New York. He taught at several schools, including The New School, New York (1947–55) and Yale University, New Haven, CT, (1952–53).

Abraham Haskel Taub: was a distinguished American mathematician and physicist, well known for his important contributions to the early development of general relativity, as well as differential geometry and differential equations. He is perhaps best known for a 1948 paper dealing with relativistic shock waves, in which he introduced a relativistic generalization of the Rankine-Hugoniot jump conditions across a shock, which is now known as the "Taub Adiabat".Taub earned his doctorate at Princeton University in 1935, under the direction of the prominent relativist Howard Percy Robertson. At Princeton, Taub was also influenced by Oswald Veblen.

Abraham Bennet: was an English clergyman and physicist, the inventor of the gold-leaf electroscope and developer of an improved magnetometer. Though he was cited by Alessandro Volta as a key influence on his own work, Bennet's work was curtailed by the political turbulence of his time.[1] Abraham was baptised in Taxal, Derbyshire, the son of another Abraham Bennet, a schoolmaster, and his wife Ann née Fallowes. There is no record of him having attended university but he is recorded as a teacher at Wirksworth Grammar School as "MA". He was ordained in London in 1775 and appointed curate at Tideswell and, one year later, additionally at Wirksworth, with a combined annual stipend of £60. He further became rector of Fenny Bentley, domestic chaplain to the Duke of Devonshire, perpetual curate of Woburn and librarian to the Duke of Bedford.[1]
