Karim Khan Saadiq: is a Afghan cricketer. He is a right-handed batsman who plays as a wicketkeeper for the Afghan national team. He can also bowl off break, taking 4/27 against Denmark in their first match of 2009 ICC World Cup Qualifier. Saadiq is a part of the rapidly rising Afghan cricket team that in under a year has won the World Cricket League Division Five, Division Four and Division Three, thus promoting them to Division Two and allowing them to partake in the 2009 ICC World Cup Qualifier's.

Mareena Karim: an Afghan athlete.As a baby, she was left too close to a stove and suffered severe burns to both feet, which were subsequently amputated.[1] As an athlete, she therefore competes as a Paralympian (T46 category).Karim was the first woman ever to officially represent Afghanistan at the Paralympic Games when she competed in the 100 metres sprint at the 2004 Summer Paralympics in Athens.[2] She finished last in her heat with a time of 18.85 seconds and did not advance to the next round.[3]
