Amos Mansdorf: is a former professional tennis player from Israel. He reached his career-high ranking of World No. 18, the highest ever of any Israeli male tennis player, in November 1987.In 1983 Mansdorf won the Asian Junior Championshop in Hong Kong. That same year he turned professional and started his mandatory army service. While he could not train as much during his service as he had would have liked, he was allowed to continue to play on the ATP tour on a limited basis. During his service he played at the demonstration event of the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, and lost in the first round.

Amos Burn: was an English chess player, one of the world's leading players at the end of the 19th century, and a chess writer.He was born in Hull and moved to London at the age of 21. There he took chess lessons from future World Champion Wilhelm Steinitz, and, like his teacher, became known for his superior defensive ability. In his book The Praxis of My System Aaron Nimzowitsch named him among the top six "purely defensive players". From 1913 until his death, Burn edited the chess column of The Field, but he was never a professional player.
