Akira Murata: the founder of Murata Manufacturing. He was the President/Statutory Representative Director from 1950 to 1991. Since 1995 he has held the position of Honorary Chairman.Murata was honored in 1980 with the Medal with Blue Ribbon of Japan (Ranju Hosho). In 1986, he was honored with the Cross of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany First Class (Bundesverdienstkreuz Erster Klasse). He was further honored in 1993 with the Order of the Sacred Treasure, Gold and Silver Star of Japan (Kun-ni-to Zuihosho).

Akira Fujioka: a Japanese beatboxer from the Osaka metropolitan area. He formed the beatboxing band Afra & Incredible Beatbox Band in 2005 with Kei and K-Moon. He had a guest appearance alongside Koichi Yamadera in the eighth episode of the anime Samurai Champloo as the voice of the beatboxing Shinpachi.

As for dramas, Terao has acted with Kazunari Ninomiya in Yasashii Jikan as well as in the latest Takuya Kimura helmed drama, Change (Spring 2008).

Abe Akira: was a contemporary Japanese author. He was born in Hiroshima, where his father, a naval officer, was stationed, but spend the majority of his childhood in the seaside town of Kugenuma. He graduated from the University of Tokyo with a degree in French literature and worked for a broadcasting company until 1971, when he became a full time writer. His literary career began in 1962 with the publication of The Children's Room, (Kodomobeya), an emotional account of growing up with a mentally retarded older brother. Almost all of his stories are autobiographical and based on events from his own life and the lives of his family. His short story, Peaches, published in 1972, has appeared in several anthologies of short stories. Peaches is a beautiful, mystical tale that finds the author questioning the most fundamental source of his art——his memory.
