Steven Blaney: is a Canadian Conservative politician from Quebec. As of 2011, he is Minister of Veterans Affairs. Blaney is a former active member of the largest group of environmental professionals in Canada, Réseau Environnement, and served as President of its Québec-Chaudière-Appalaches chapter from 2003 to 2006. First elected to the House of Commons in 2006, he was re-elected in 2008 and in 2011 as the Member of Parliament for Lévis—Bellechasse. After his election, Blaney was appointed as Co-President of the Conservative caucus of Quebec. In October 2008, he became its President. He served on the Indian Affairs Committee and on the Transport, Infrastructure and Community Committee. Blaney later joined the Defence Committee and participated in a visit to Kandahar in January 2006.
