Edward Walton Anderson            Origin/Culture/Country: American

Edward Walton Anderson: was an English professional footballer, playing at either full-back or wing-half.Ted Anderson was playing for Waddington Colliery when spotted by Wolverhampton Wanderers, moving to Molineux in December 1929. After only three league games for Wolves, he moved to Torquay United in December 1931, making his debut on Boxing Day in the 3–1 defeat away to Queen's Park Rangers. He remained a regular that season, replacing Bob Smith, and was ever-present the following season as Torquay finished in 10th place in Division Three (South), their highest finish so far. In June 1933 he was signed by Second Division West Ham United, making 26 league appearances (2 goals) before moving again, this time to Chester City in June 1935. In 2 years at Chester, he made only 23 league appearances, before leaving for Tranmere Rovers in July 1937.

Harry Bernstein: is the author of The Invisible Wall, which deals with his abusive, alcoholic father, the anti-Semitism he encountered growing up in a mill town in northern England, and the Romeo and Juliet romance experienced by his sister and her Christian lover. The book was started when he was 93 and published in 2007 when he was 96. The loneliness he encountered following the death of his wife, Ruby, in 2002 after 67 years of marriage was the catalyst for Bernstein to begin work on his book.

Edward Henry "Butch" O'Hare            Origin/Culture/Country: American

Edward Henry "Butch" O'Hare: was a naval aviator of the United States Navy who on 20 February 1942 became the U.S. Navy's first flying ace and Medal of Honor recipient in World War II. Butch O'Hare's final action took place on the night of 26 November 1943, while he was leading the U.S. Navy's first-ever nighttime fighter attack launched from an aircraft carrier. During this encounter with a group of Japanese torpedo bombers, O'Hare was shot down; his aircraft was never found. In 1945, the U.S. Navy destroyer USS O'Hare (DD-889) was named in his honor.

Edward Gay Robinson: was an African American college football coach.During his tenure, Robinson established himself as the winningest coach in college football history, becoming the first coach to record 400 wins (although 45 of his wins occurred before Grambling was an accredited college). Robinson is second on the list of wins by a college coach, immediately behind active coach John Gagliardi of St. John's University (Minnesota). Robinson retired with a record of 408 wins, 165 losses and 15 ties. More than 200 of his players went on to play in the American Football League and in the NFL. Robinson coached three American Football League players who would later be inducted to the Pro Football Hall of Fame: the Kansas City Chiefs' Buck Buchanan; the Oakland Raiders' Willie Brown; and the Houston Oilers' Charlie Joiner. Robinson also coached James Harris, who with the AFL's Buffalo Bills became the first black quarterback in modern Pro Football history to start at that position in a season opener. He also coached Packers defensive end and Hall of Famer Willie Davis and the Super Bowl XXII MVP, Redskins quarterback Doug Williams, who would ultimately succeed Robinson as Grambling's head coach in 1998.

Willie Edward Lanier: is a former American football middle-linebacker who played for the Kansas City Chiefs from 1967 through 1977. He won postseason honors for eight consecutive years, making the American Football League All-Star team in 1968 and 1969 before being selected to the Pro Bowl from 1970 through 1975. He was inducted into Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1986.
