He began playing professional soccer in 2005 when he signed with the newly expansion franchise the Oakville Blue Devils of the Canadian Professional Soccer League. He made his debut on June 10, 2005 against London City in a 3-2 victory. The following week on June 12, Fairweather scored the winning goal in a 2-1 victory over the Laval Dynamites.
