Leonard Marx: He was originally nicknamed Chicko due to his reputation as a ladies man, or a "chicken chaser" in the popular slang of the day. A typesetter accidentally dropped the "k" in his name and it became Chico. It was still pronounced [t??ko?] although those who were unaware of its origin tended to pronounce it [?i?ko?]. Radio recordings from the 1940s exist where announcers and fellow actors mispronounce the nickname, but Chico apparently felt it was unnecessary to correct them. Leonard Guy Ford, Jr.: was an American football defensive end elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1976.He played two years for the Los Angeles Dons of the All-America Football Conference. When the AAFC disbanded in 1949, only three teams from the league - the Cleveland Browns, San Francisco 49ers, and Baltimore Colts - were merged into the NFL. Ford was selected by the Browns out of a special draft pool created for teamless former AAFC players. In Cleveland, he became a ferocious defensive player for a very strong Browns team that dominated the NFL during the 1950s, playing in five championship games and winning three.

Leonard Peter Supulski: a former American football player and well-known television sportscaster, having worked at CBS, FOX, and, briefly, ESPN.Summerall is best known for his work with John Madden on CBS and FOX's NFL telecasts, and in 1999 he was inducted into the American Sportscasters Association Hall of Fame.[1]After retiring from football, Summerall became a broadcaster for CBS Sports. He started in 1962 working part-time on New York Giants' broadcasts. In 1964, CBS hired Summerall full-time to work its NFL telecasts, initially as a color commentator and then (beginning in 1975) as a play-by-play announcer. Summerall covered other events including ABA basketball. Summerall also did sportscasts for the network's flagship radio station until 1966 when he did a morning drive-time music/talk program, WCBS-AM. In 1969, Summerall took part in NBC's coverage of Super Bowl III.

He is most especially known for his book Language (1933), describing the state of the art of linguistics at its time.Bloomfield was the main founder of the Linguistic Society of America.Bloomfield's thought was mainly characterized by its behavioristic principles for the study of meaning, its insistence on formal procedures for the analysis of language data, as well as a general concern to provide linguistics with rigorous scientific methodology. Its pre-eminence decreased in the late 1950s and 1960s, after the emergence of Generative Grammar.
