Lloyd Daniels: is an American former professional basketball player. The 6'7" guard was heavily recruited by various colleges, despite the fact that transfered from one high school to another in New York City. He eventually wound up at UNLV, where he was taken in by an assistant coach as his legal guardian and enrolled at the school to play for legendary coach Jerry Tarkanian. He never did play at UNLV, as off court troubles led to him leaving the school. He enrolled and played very briefly at Mt. St. Antonio (junior college) before playing in the CBA and other minor professional leagues. During this time he was shot 3 times during a confrontation in Queens New York. Almost immediately thereafter he recovered and began playing again. When Tarkanian was named head coach of the San Antonio Spurs, he brought Daniels with him, and Daniels teamed up with David Robinson in the Spurs starting lineup. He was born in Brooklyn, New York, New York.A 6'7" forward from St. John's University, Dove was selected by the Detroit Pistons with the fourth pick of the 1967 NBA Draft. He played two years with the Pistons before joining the New York Nets of the ABA, with whom he remained until 1972. In his professional career, Dove averaged 11.1 points per game and 6.0 rebounds per game.[1]

Though undersized for his position, he endeared himself to fans with his hard work and tenacity, and he averaged a double-double (13.4 points, 11.8 rebounds) during the 1972-73 NBA season. After his career was cut short by a knee injury in 1979, the Blazers retired his #36 jersey.
