Stanley Purl Menzo: a Dutch football (soccer) manager and retired football player.He made his debut for AFC Ajax in the 1983/1984 season as substitute for Hans Galjé, and became the club's first choice for goalkeeper from the start of the 1985/86 season. Manager Johan Cruyff believed that Menzo was one of the first goalies who could also make his mark as a field player.Menzo lost his place in the starting line up to Edwin van der Sar in the 1992/93 season, after a 4-2 loss in the UEFA Cup match against AJ Auxerre. In this match Menzo scored an own goal and was the cause of another goal. In 1994, he moved to PSV Eindhoven. In 1996 he moved to the Belgian club Lierse S.K.. With Lierse S.K. Menzo won the Belgian Cup and the national title.
