Thomas Walter Scott: was the first Premier of the province of Saskatchewan in Canada (1905–1916). In 1900, Scott ran as a Liberal in the federal riding of Assiniboia West and was elected to the House of Commons. He was re-elected in 1904. During the discussions about creating provinces out of the Northwest Territories, Scott initially supported territorial premier Frederick Haultain's proposal to create one big province (to be named "Buffalo") out of what is today Alberta and Saskatchewan – but then converted to the two-province option favoured by Sir Wilfrid Laurier's Liberal government. In August 1908, Scott was re-elected as premier of Saskatchewan. For this election, the Legislature had been expanded to 41 seats, and Scott's Liberals won 27 of these seats. Also in 1908, the Scott government passed the Children's Protection Act to care for neglected and dependent children. In the 1912 election, the Legislature was expanded again, and Scott's Liberals won 46 of the 54 ridings. By this point, their opposition – the Provincial Rights Party – had decided to re-join mainstream politics and re-named itself the Conservative Party. Haultain resigned as leader in the wake of the 1912 electoral defeat.

Ian Gilmour Scott: was a politician in the Canadian province of Ontario. Scott first ran for public office in the provincial election of 1981. He once described his political views as "left of liberal" and had considered running for the Ontario New Democratic Party, but was unimpressed with the leadership abilities of Michael Cassidy. An opponent of the Progressive Conservative party that had governed Ontario since 1943, Scott instead chose to run for the Ontario Liberal Party under Stuart Smith, in the downtown Toronto riding of St. David. He lost to Progressive Conservative cabinet minister Margaret Scrivener by 1,022 votes. Scott was narrowly re-elected in the 1990 election that defeated the Peterson government. He was unhappy in opposition, and lost interest in the legislature after Murray Elston, his choice to replace Peterson as party leader, was narrowly defeated at the Liberal Party's 1992 leadership convention. Scott resigned his seat in the legislature in 1992.

After leaving federal politics, Scott served as a Toronto City Councillor from 1969 to 1976. At the age of 80, Scott threatened to come out of political retirement to contest the riding of Ajax—Pickering for the Ontario NDP in the October 2007 provincial election. William C. Scott: was a Canadian politician. A Progressive Conservative, Scott, a merchant by profession, was first elected to the Canadian House of Commons in the 1965 federal election representing the Ontario riding of Victoria. The riding was renamed Victoria—Haliburton, and Scott was re-elected as its Member of Parliament (MP) in seven successive elections. He served as a backbencher until 1989 when he was appointed parliamentary secretary to the Minister of Veterans Affairs.
