Priscilla White, as she was then, was discovered by Brian Epstein, the Beatles' manager. His management and George Martin's production skills assisted Black to become one of the most successful British pop singers of the period. She became a formidable ballad singer. Her hits lasted longer than those of any Epstein artist, with the obvious exception of the Beatles themselves.
