Jerzy Bulanow: was a Russian-Polish footballer.As a teenager, started playing soccer in Nazdar Moscow, then moved to another local team - MKLS Moscow. However, some time in late 1918 or early 1919, he moved with family (parents and three brothers) from Russia to Poland, escaping the Russian Revolution (see: White Emigre).Bulanow, a native speaker of Russian, came to Warsaw at the age of 16. He went to a Russian Gymnasium, but also started to learn Polish. Soon became proficient in the new language, later married a Polish woman from Warsaw, also wrote numerous articles, short stories, even novels. Nevertheless he is the most famous for his soccer achievements.

Jerzy Józef Brzeczek: a Polish footballer, currently with Polish League's Górnik Zabrze.Brzeczek played for Raków Czestochowa, Olimpia Poznan, Lech Poznan, Górnik Zabrze, GKS Katowice, FC Tirol Innsbruck (later FC Wacker Tirol), LASK Linz, Maccabi Haifa, SK Sturm Graz and FC Kärnten, returning in 2007 to Poland for a second stint with Górnik. He picked up championship medals in both Poland (with Lech Poznan in 1993) and Austria (with Tirol Innsbruck in 2001 and 2002).

Jerzy Podbrozny: a former Polish football striker, one of the top scorers in Polish football history.Podbrozny led the Polish league in scoring: in 1992 with 20 goals and in 1993 with 25 goals, both times for Lech Poznan. After winning the championship both those years, he transferred to Legia Warsaw, and promptly won the next two titles. In 1996, Podbrozny moved to Spain, first with Mérida UD and then with Toledo. He then signed with the Chicago Fire, coming to Major League Soccer in the club's inaugural season in 1998, joining fellow Polish internationals Peter Nowak and Roman Kosecki. Podbrozny went on to help the club to the MLS Cup and U.S. Open Cup double.

Jerzy Adolf Wostal: was a Polish soccer player, one of best forwards of interwar Poland.In the late 1930s Wostal played for AKS Chorzów. The best year in his career was 1937. His team then became vice-champions of Poland (after Cracovia Kraków), and he was the top scorer of the Polish Soccer League, with 12 goals.On the Polish National Team he played in 10 games, scoring 4 goals. Wostal’s debut took place on September 6, 1936, in Riga (Latvia - Poland 3-3). One of the best matches in his career occurred on October 10, 1937 in Warsaw. In a 1938 FIFA World Cup qualifier Poland beat Yugoslavia 4-0 and Wostal scored one of the goals.
