Walter Herbert Withers: as an Australian landscape artist and a member of the Heidelberg School of Australian impressionists.Withers was born at Handsworth, Staffordshire, the son of Edwin Withers. He showed an early desire to paint, but objection was made to this by his father. It is not known what occupation he followed in England, but in 1882 he arrived in Australia with the intention of going on the land. After working for about 18 months on a farm, Withers removed to Melbourne and obtained a position as draughtsman in a firm of printers. He then took up his painting again, and began to exhibit with the Victorian Academy of Arts afterwards merged in the Victorian Artists' Society

Walter Hervey Bagot: was a South Australian architect. He was one of the last great proponents of the traditional school of South Australian architecture, and remained unconvinced by Modernism. He founded Woods & Bagot in 1905.[1]He was educated at the Collegiate School of St Peter and apprenticed to the architect E. J. Woods for four years. In 1902 Bagot went to England where he studied architecture at King's College, University of London, won the silver medal of the Worshipful Company of Carpenters and in 1904 gained associateship of the Royal Institute of British Architects. In 1905 he returned to Adelaide and formed the firm of Woods & Bagot (later Woods, Bagot, Laybourne-Smith & Irwin). On 18 November 1908 at St Peter's Cathedral, Adelaide, he married Josephine Margaret Barritt.

Walter Ralston Bunning: was a prominent Australian architect and urban planner.In 1938 Bunning returned to Australia and helped to establish the Sydney arm of the Modern Architectural Research Society (MARS) which was modelled on the famous British organisation of the same name.[3] During World War II Bunning’s worked for the Australian Government, mainly designing camouflage schemes. However in 1943 Bunning’s was appointed executive officer of the Commonwealth Housing Commission writing much of its influential 1944 report,[2] which according to many scholars became a virtual text book for planners.
