Athanasios Miaoulis: was a Prime Minister of Greece. Born in Hydra in 1815 the son of the famous Greek admiral Andreas Miaoulis, from whom he learned his navigation skills. Moreover, Athanasios learned much about naval affairs from reading the letters of Phillip Ioannou. He finished military school in Munich and served as an officer in the Greek Navy. He became an adjutant of King Otto and in 1855 became Naval Minister. He served as Prime Minister of Greece from November 13, 1857 until May 26, 1862. He died in Paris, France on June 7, 1867.

Athanasios Kanakaris-Roufos: was a Greek politician from Achaea. He ran for mayor of the city of Patras. He was of Benizelos Rouphos and brother of Georgios Roufos, descended from the famous Roufos family. Together with his brother, he think that the reformation of Patras. During his time as mayor, he changed Patras into a dignified city, he ran a gaslight company in Krya Itea, he soiled the olives southwest of downtown, opened roads and constructed Omonoia Square, he ran public schools, the Markato market and brought the union of suburbs with the city with the construction of the race track. He died in 1902. He raised two sons Loukas Kanakaris-Roufos and Vasileios Roufos.

Athanasios N. Miaoulis: was a Greek naval officer and politician, serving several times as Navy Minister and briefly as the Mayor of Piraeus. He was a relative of the naval leader of the from the Hydriot family . In 1909 he served as Minister of Naval Affairs, a post he held again in 1914, 1915 and 1919. As a diehard Venizelist, he was persuaded in 1932 to run for the mayoralty of Piraeus, despite his own reluctance. He accepted on the condition that he could resign following a possible victory of the Liberal Party in the forthcoming legislative elections. Indeed, the Venizelists won the elections, opening the prospect of his retirement from the mayor's office and politics in general.

Athanasios Roussopoulos            Origin/Culture/Country: Greek

Athanasios Roussopoulos: was a Greek scientist, Professor at the National Technical University of Athens and politician, member of the Greek Parliament and Minister of Public Works. He was also President of the Technical Chamber of Greece. In 1930 he was appointed Professor in Applied Statics and Iron Constructions at the National Technical University of Athens, also known as the Athens Polytechnic, where his work was mostly concerned with the development of the theory of aseismic structures, on which he published many papers. He resigned and became Emeritus Professor in 1958 in order to enter political life.
