Leverett De Veber Chipman: was a Nova Scotia businessman and political figure. He represented Kings in the Canadian House of Commons as a Liberal member from 1870 to 1874. He was first elected to the House of Commons in 1870 after the death of his father, who had been elected in Kings in 1867. Chipman served as a lieutenant-colonel in the local militia. He had not been recruited to play college basketball and so he intended to go to Indiana University to play football before Bradley's coach discovered and signed them. In his career at Bradley Tart scored 1,053 points in 73 games for an average of 14.4 points per game. He was the Most Valuable Player of the 1964 National Invitational Tournament, which Bradley won.
