She was appointed to the post in September 2010 following a cabinet reshuffle,[1] having previously served since the October 2009 installation of George Papandreou's socialist government as Minister for the Economy, Competitiveness and Shipping. Prior to her first cabinet appointment Katseli had been economics spokesperson for her party, Pasok.[2]
